Starting My Journey
Leaving my family and moving to a new country was a daunting yet exciting decision. As an international student, I began my journey in Canada, initially studying international business management at Centennial College. The experience was enriching, yet I soon realized my passion lay in marketing. Driven by this newfound interest, I sought to expand my knowledge in this field, aiming to build a career that combined my business acumen with my creative interests.
The first time I visited the building after receiving my offer letter.( Circa May 2023)
The search for a suitable program led me to York University's School of Continuing Studies. I stumbled upon their postgraduate diploma program through an Instagram post. Intrigued by the possibility, I dove deeper into the course outline and structure on their website. The program seemed tailor-made for my career goals, perfectly complementing my previous internships in digital marketing. Despite receiving mixed feedback from LinkedIn contacts who had either loved or criticized the course, I trusted my gut and decided to apply. To my delight, I received my offer letter within two weeks, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my educational journey. I remember vividly dragging my friend along with me on a Sunday morning just to see the campus while we were still adjusting to the mood swings of the Canadian weather. As seen in the picture above, it was raining the day I decided to come and visit the campus, and it might have been the worst day to come and explore the campus as everything was shut since it was a Sunday.
