# **The Beginning**

Welcome to my deep dive into York University. During my graduation I never thought that my next step can be doing a post-grad in Canada. But today here I am, after my graduation I applied to [York University School of Continuing Studies](https://continue.yorku.ca/) to pursue a [Postgraduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing](https://continue.yorku.ca/programs/post-graduate-certificate-in-digital-and-content-marketing/), and guess what I got accepted. When I got my offer letter, I was really excited to live a whole new life and experience new cultures. So, my experience at York University is filled with both joy and challenges. To illustrate my journey, I will discuss what all I expected and what was the reality, I’ll touch on the benefits and difficulties I encountered, at last I will also provide a few tips to other students to help them acquire skills and knowledge at York.

Choosing a university from almost 12000km is not an easy task for anyone as there is a lot to consider before putting your time, money and energy for almost 1 year which is going to play a major role in deciding my future career. After looking over 25 universities in Canada, The one that caught my eye and mind was York University, Keele Campus. I looked up over a 20 videos about the campus online which made me feel like a place where I would fit in well. The amenities that York provides its students to enjoy in the campus made me feel like home. Which is important for any international student so that we can focus on our studies. I chose the course of Digital Marketing which matched with my previous degree of journalism and mass communication perfectly. Let me take you to my 8 months affair with York University and how this roller coaster ride impacted my professional journey as a Digital Marketer.

**The Beginning of My Journey**
From my first glance at York University a year ago until submitting an application for the Digital and Content Marketing course, I was like a working professional looking forward to studying in another country with anticipation. The course outline was right up my alley, and the idea of sitting amongst an international class had a great charm for me. I didn't know that this journey would be even better than anything I had dreamed of.
