As a current student, I’ve wandered through the lively campus, checked out its cool buildings, and met tons of different people. In this post, I’ll look back on my time at the place, pointing out some key moments and why it’s been such a ride. My Journey at York University Picking York University School of Continuing Studies was actually easy for me. I already had a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree and one Ontario postgraduate certificate. I needed a place that wasn’t just great in academics but also had a unique vibe. York fitted the bill perfectly. Once I set foot on the campus, I felt a sense of belonging. The vibe was friendly, and everyone from faculty to staff was super supportive. It was a place where I could grow both academically and personally. The programs here are challenging, pushing us to be our best. The curriculum is tough, yet with support from professors and peers, it’s totally doable. I’ve learned so much and grown a lot it has been amazing. Campus Life and Experiences First off, let’s chat about the campus itself. Our building? Pretty darn cool. Some folks even call it “oh, that weird building near Seneca or Schulich.” It’s funny and adds some humour to our daily lives. Entering it feels like stepping into an art gallery with lots of light and texture everywhere you look. It’s like a mini visual treat each day. One favourite hangout? York Lanes, yep, there’s a shopping mall inside the university! A mall! And you’re right: there’s even a bar where you can grab an alcoholic drink if you want one. Coming from somewhere where that would be a big parental debate? It's totally refreshing. Plus, having shops, a pharmacy, and food joints all within reach? It makes life so easy. ![Jeevant Suhag](https://app.hubspot.com/settings/avatar/a5f8dbdd7d4a0d8b88aedc2628eeb642) [Jeevant Suhag](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/author/jeevant-suhag) [Read More](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/surviving-and-thriving-at-york-u-school-of-continuing-studies-weird-buildings-cherry-blossoms-and-everything-in-between) ![](https://21020222.hs-sites.com/hubfs/image-png-Aug-07-2024-04-57-04-0229-AM.png) [Academic,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/academic) [1. Little did I know that this journey would be filled with challenges, triumphs, and incredible personal growth. Like many international students, my journey began when I arrived in Canada in 2022 and discovered York University. Eager to pursue a second course for my studies, I stumbled upon the York School of Continuing Studies or York SCS. I embarked on an in-depth exploration of the most suitable programs and ultimately chose Digital and Content Marketing. What drew me to this course was the glowing reviews I encountered, including a conversation with a current student who enthusiastically remarked, “Everything went so smoothly that I didn't even realize when August arrived after January.” Her words ignited a spark of motivation within me, yet I couldn’t help but ponder—why hadn’t my experience felt quite as seamless? As I navigate this new chapter, I find myself reflecting on the challenges and triumphs of my own journey. ![Niket Munjal](https://app.hubspot.com/settings/avatar/d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e) [Niket Munjal](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/author/niket-munjal) [Read More](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/niketblog-figuring-out-life-) ![A classroom in the school of continuing studies building, with students sitting around the tables, and a professor in front of the class with two projector screens in the background](https://21020222.hs-sites.com/hubfs/IMG_2768.jpeg) [Experience,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/experience) [Academic,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/academic) [Essential Skills,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/essential-skills) [Future students,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/future-students) [Learning,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/learning) [York School of Continuing Studies,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/york-school-of-continuing-studies) [Digital & Content Marketing,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/digital-content-marketing) [Study Abroad,](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/study-abroad) [certificate](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/tag/certificate) ### [Life as a Digital Marketing student at York University](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/life-of-a-york-university-student) Aug 3, 2024 1:12:21 PM One day we walk into our class, and what do we see, Legos! We are looking at each other and whispering, are we playing legos in class today? As we settle down, our professor says each group is a marketing team and you all have to design a campaign, and a lego art-piece out of it. A thousand lego pieces and long brainstorming sessions with my group, we came up with an idea of creating a netflix reality show, featuring lego artists, partnered with well known brands. Where the artists will create masterpieces as per the theme of the episode.
