### [From Delhi to Toronto: A Journey of Education, Exploration, and Growth](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/from-delhi-to-toronto-a-journey-of-education-exploration-and-growth)

“Canada is the land of dreams and hard work”, this is what I have heard and read since my days in college in India and I have always wanted to come to Canada, become self-dependent and cherish the [opportunities Canada has to offer](https://www.educanada.ca/why-canada-pourquoi/reasons-raisons.aspx?lang=eng). In the third year of my engineering, I started to look for colleges and universities that offered courses in digital marketing, the reason why I chose [marketing](https://online.champlain.edu/blog/top-reasons-to-consider-career-in-marketing#:~:text=The%20Versatility%20of%20a%20Marketing,media%20specialists%20to%20advertising%20executives.) was that I am always fascinated by the creativity and power of persuasion that revolves around marketing and how it had become a necessity of every business. So, as I was reading about different courses, the [Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing at York University](https://continue.yorku.ca/programs/post-graduate-certificate-in-digital-and-content-marketing/) caught my attention. It offered the exact combination of skills and knowledge I wanted to gain, I instantly decided to opt for this certification.

My name is Vikhyat Aggarwal, and I am an international student from India. I arrived in Canada in December 2022 to pursue a [Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Administration](https://continue.yorku.ca/programs/post-graduate-certificate-in-business-administration/) at York University. After completing this course, I continued my studies with a [Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing](https://continue.yorku.ca/programs/post-graduate-certificate-in-digital-and-content-marketing/), which I am about to finish as I am in my last semester. This journey has been a roller-coaster ride, filled with challenges and growth, and I'd like to share my experiences and advice for future students considering this path.

### [York University : Marketing Mischiefs and my Digital Dreams](http://21020222.hs-sites.com/wellness/york-university-marketing-mischiefs-and-my-digital-dreams)

I always wondered how it would be to become an international student. I always envied my friends who decided to go abroad as international students to complete their studies and I felt jealous when they explained their experiences. I was in India at that time wondering, “Will I ever get a chance to go and study abroad?”

One day we walk into our class, and what do we see, Legos! We are looking at each other and whispering, are we playing legos in class today? As we settle down, our professor says each group is a marketing team and you all have to design a campaign, and a lego art-piece out of it. A thousand lego pieces and long brainstorming sessions with my group, we came up with an idea of creating a netflix reality show, featuring lego artists, partnered with well known brands. Where the artists will create masterpieces as per the theme of the episode.

## **A Warm Welcome**

From my very first day at [York University School of Continuing Studies](https://continue.yorku.ca/), I knew I was embarking on a transformative journey. Todd Rich, our Program Manager, welcomed us with a heartfelt speech. His words not only outlined the university’s policies and regulations but also made us feel at home, setting the stage for an incredible period of learning and growth.

Hi there!
I am Jouella Gonsalves, an international student from India, and I came to Toronto, Canada in 2023. While applying to colleges in Canada, I realized I didn't have anyone to give me a realistic picture of what to expect from Canadian education. So, I watched a few YouTube videos and decided to pursue a good-ranking college that offered a media course which was one of the best for an international student like me. However, it was nothing like I imagined. My first year was a struggle as I juggled a new schedule, a part-time job, college assignments, and much more. Thankfully, things have started to look upward this year. So, let me give you a realistic picture of what to expect when studying at York's School of Continuing Studies to help guide your decision-making if you're considering enrolling here.**
