My Experience at YorkU School of Continuing Studies
I had a feeling of enthusiasm and belonging as soon as I set foot on the York campus. Every part of my experience was consistent with the school's mission to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The focus on self-development and creation of networks has been pivotal to my journey here.
Self-Development and Creation of Networks
The lecturers' guest lectures have been one of the most memorable parts of my learning. These are not optional; rather, they are essential to the educational process. It helped me bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical implementation, distinguished myself from a range of industries offer their views. These lectures have helped me appreciate digital marketing on a deeper level and have inspired me to think critically and creatively, thereby improving my self-development skills.
Mr. Luki, a career coach who has found his purpose in assisting others in finding theirs, gave a guest talk that I attended. He offered insights that help me improve my profile's trustworthiness, establish dependability through regular contacts, and cultivate closeness through tailored LinkedIn engagement. Building Confidence in State-of-the-Art Environments
The facilities at York University are world-class. A perfect setting for learning and teamwork is created by the modern facilities and cutting-edge classrooms. Many parks and green areas can be found across the campus, providing peaceful areas to relax and think. My favorite spots to make memories with friends and find peace among the hectic world of academia have been these areas. During the summer, I spent much of my time in parks enjoying the scenery after class. It helped me in starting fresh. I've occasionally finished projects by sitting down, which also helps to break up the monotony.
The world-class infrastructure at York not only supports academic activities but also contributes to my self-development by providing the right environment to achieve my personal goals and improve my self-development skills. The state-of-the-art facilities have been crucial in building my confidence and helping me excel professionally.
Inconvenient Transportation
Although it's not the fault of the university, public transit is really inconvenient. I had a lot of problems when I was traveling. I used to take the direct bus from my stop to the university, but that service was discontinued later, so I have to take a longer and more involved route that requires taking more buses.
Study Spaces
The university's libraries offer a refuge for people who thrive in calm, concentrated settings. These libraries have been crucial to my academic performance since they are well-stocked with materials and offer cozy self-study spaces. It is simpler to immerse oneself in complex ideas and courses when they offer an environment conducive to intensive work and self-study.
These self-study spaces have played a significant role in my journey of self-development. The quiet and resource-rich environment of the libraries has helped me focus on my personal goals and build confidence in my academic abilities. Regular visits to these study spaces have been instrumental in improving my self-development skills and achieving academic success.
Recreational Opportunities at York Lanes
One of the best things about studying at York is being close to York Lanes. This mall has lots of fun options like places to eat, shop and have fun. After a tough week of studying, it's a great place to relax and hang out with friends.
I visited first time when Mr. Heath, our lecturer, invited us to celebrate his final session at Timbers in York Lanes. We had a great time for over two hours, and the evening was wonderful. He welcomed all of his sections' students, which also gave us an opportunity to socialize and form connections. We documented memories and played games as well.
